Kennedy Space Center (KSC)
Of course you can do KSC bus tours which will take near launch sites, etc... For space buffs, this is probably a great tour. Frankly, we have not done it. The cost is about $50 per person. No discount, military or otherwise.
However, for those who want to get a sense of KSC, there is a "SHOPPING PASS".
Update as of March 2021: Some people who get this deal, others are turned away. It probably has to do with who is at the ticket counter, how busy they are, weather, etc... Because you don't know if you can get this "deal", don't waste money on parking! Say you are dropping somebody off near the handicap parking area. Then, have your best negotiator jog up to the counter - and go to work ;-)
Details on the "SHOPPING PASS":
- The folks at the ticket counter will deny they have this deal
- Therefore, go into the building that says INFORMATION.
- It is to the left of the main ticket area.
- The cost is $10 per person.
- You will get your tickets (which you will not want to loose).
- You will be able to walk the main grounds
- This includes: Actual rocket display, food courts, and other outdoor displays.
- Note: You will not have access to indoor events or exhibits.
THE CATCH IS:
- You will need to buy something in the gift store.
- They say one item per ticket - but we don't think they care - just so long a your group buys something.
- You will return to the INFORMATION house up to an hour after you purchased your ticket.
- Show them your entrance ticket and receipt from the gift store.
- Receive $10 refund per ticket :-)
- Only cost = what you purchased in the gift store - which is large.
IN SHORT:
ENJOY YOUR VISIT!
